FEM Racking and Shelving Data Policy

FEM Racking and Shelving (FEM R&S) take personal data seriously and any personal data is processed by FEM R&S to perform our contractual duties. FEM R&S are General Data Protection Regulation compliant and ensure that your personal data is treated accordingly. Your details are used for administrative purposes relating to membership and to keep you informed about the activities and progress of FEM R&S work. 

FEM R&S only collect basic contact information (name, email addresses and telephone numbers and membership status) from those working within FEM R&S in order for the Management Board and Working Groups to function effectively and this information will not be shared with any third parties without your explicit consent. 

This information is also used to facilitate communication on matters of relevance to the organisation with interested colleagues but engineers and/or members can ask to stop receiving specific communications from us at any point in time by contacting the Secretariat at the above address. Once you are no longer part of the organisation, then your details will be removed from the data lists and you will no longer receive any further communications.

FEM R&S maintain three types of personal data:

  1. Member contact details are used to send out membership information and invoices and are posted onto the website as the point of contact for the National Association or company concerned. A mailing list is used for key communications and to invite delegates to participate in the AGM. We ask these member contacts to take responsibility for advising us when details of their member companies information relating to their own National Association need to be updated.
  2. The Management Board are the key individuals who discuss policy and direction for the organisation and their details are used for key communications relating to this work and also made available through the website for other Members to contact them regarding the future work and policies of FEM R&S.
  3. Working Group information is held to facilitate communication with the relevant engineers who are co-operating on particular projects and tasks. The Chair person and Technical Secretary of these Working Groups manage communication and the dissemination of updated information to those within the Working Groups by both emails and an online facility. They are responsible for keeping the Secretariat informed of any changes to the contact details for the Group.
